Edit Video

Edit Video is the workstation mode for changing an existing video instead of generating one from scratch. It groups several editing tools — Edit character, Edit motion, Edit everything, Video face swap, Edit style, Edit shot, Edit product, Edit background, and Upscale — behind a single switcher so you can pick the kind of edit you want and feed it a source video.

What can I do in Edit Video?

Edit Video gives you up to nine tools, each picked from the switcher at the top of the panel. Each one starts from the same source video and then asks for whatever extra input that edit needs:

  • Edit character — keep the video's motion but swap in a new character (from a reference image).

  • Edit motion — keep your character but make them follow the motion from another video or image.

  • Edit everything — rewrite the whole scene with a written instruction plus optional elements.

  • Video face swap — put your selected model's face onto the person in the video.

  • Edit style — restyle the video with a description or a preset style.

  • Edit shot — change the camera shot or framing with a description or preset.

  • Edit product — swap a product into the video using a product element.

  • Edit background — replace the background using an image, a prompt, or both.

  • Upscale — increase the video's resolution and sharpness.

Pick the right tool first, then provide a source video and any extra input that tool needs.

How do I switch between the editing tools?

Use the tool switcher at the top of the Edit Video panel. Tap a tool name — Edit character, Edit motion, Edit everything, Video face swap, Edit style, Edit shot, Edit product, Edit background, or Upscale — to switch to it. The active tool is highlighted, and switching changes the controls beside the video to match that tool. If the switcher is wider than the panel, left/right arrows appear so you can scroll through the full list.

How do I choose the video I want to edit?

Every tool starts from a source video, and you have two ways to add one:

  • Select content — opens a picker so you can choose a video you already have. You can browse your own media (Personal), curated examples (Inspiration), or shared community videos (Community). The community tab even has an Edit Video filter that surfaces videos made with these tools.

  • Upload video — upload a file from your device, up to 200 MB.

You need to be signed in to use Select content; if you're not, you'll be prompted to sign in first. Once a video is added it plays in a loop, and you can remove it with the Delete button to start over.

Why does the panel show a duration limit?

Some tools only accept videos within a certain length, and that limit changes with the tool and the quality/resolution you pick. When a limit applies you'll see a hint like "Use a video between 3 and 10 s," "Use a video longer than 3 s," or "Use a video shorter than 30 s." If your clip is outside the range, you can trim it to fit — there's a scissors (trim) button next to the duration in the bottom bar. The exact limit depends on the tool and the quality/resolution you pick, so read the hint shown in the panel for your current setup.

Can I trim the source video?

Yes. Once a video is loaded, a trim button appears next to the duration readout in the bottom bar. It opens a trimmer where you set a start and end point, and only that slice is used for the edit. Trimming is also how you bring an over-length clip inside a tool's duration limit.

Why is the Generate button greyed out?

Generate stays disabled until your source video has finished uploading and the current tool has everything it needs (for example, a reference image for Edit character, a prompt for Edit style, or a product for Edit product). If something's missing you'll see a short message explaining what to add — and if you click Generate while a video's duration is out of range, a warning tells you to trim it. Edit Video tools are priced per second of video, so the total scales with your clip's length. The exact rate is shown next to Generate and depends on the tool, the quality/resolution you pick, and your plan.

How are quality, resolution, and cost chosen?

The bottom bar shows the per-second cost, the video duration (with the trim button), and — for most tools — a resolution picker and a quality picker. The choices available depend on which tool you're using: for example, Video face swap hides the resolution picker, and Upscaling hides both the quality and resolution pickers because its output is fixed. The total credit cost scales with the duration of the video you're editing.

Why don't I see all nine tools?

Several tools are controlled by feature flags, so some may be turned off for your account or region. Edit character, Edit motion, and Video face swap are always available; Edit everything, Edit style, Edit shot, Edit product, Edit background, and Upscale each appear only when their flag is on. If a tool's flag is off, it simply won't show in the switcher.

On mobile

The tools and the source-video picker are the same on mobile — the switcher sits at the top as a row of tabs you scroll sideways, and the video and its tool controls stack vertically. Source videos open in a full-screen picker or bottom sheet, and uploads show progress with a delete button to clear them.
