This page explains the parts of the app that stay on screen no matter where you go: the sidebar, the header, the mobile bottom bar, your credits balance, the Upgrade button, your account menu, and the help links. Read this first if you're new and just want to know how to get around.
What's on screen everywhere I go?
On a computer you'll see two persistent areas on the main pages:
A sidebar down the left edge with the APOB.AI logo, a Create Portrait Model button, and links to Home, History, Publish, and Profile. Your account row sits at the bottom.
A floating credits pill in the top-right corner showing your balance plus an Upgrade (or Pricing) button.
On a phone the layout is different: there's no left sidebar. You navigate with a bottom tab bar instead, and the credits and Upgrade button appear in the page header. See the "On mobile" note at the end.
How do I move between Home, History, Publish, and Profile?
On desktop, click the icons in the left sidebar:
Home — the main feed and where you start creating.
History — everything you've generated before: models, images, and videos.
Publish — connect a social channel (Instagram for most users) and schedule your content to post to it (this link only appears when the feature is enabled for your account).
Profile — your subscription, credits, and account details.
The icon for the page you're currently on is highlighted. On a phone you use the bottom tab bar for Home, History, and Profile.
How do I start creating something?
Click the Create Portrait Model button near the top of the sidebar. If you're not signed in yet, clicking it opens the sign-in window first. Once you have at least one model, you can also generate new images and videos from it.
Where do I see my credits, and how do I refresh the number?
Your credits balance is always shown in the top-right of the screen on desktop (and next to the Upgrade button on mobile). Right beside it is a small refresh icon — click it (or click the number itself) to pull your latest balance from the server, for example right after a purchase or a generation. If the balance hasn't loaded yet you'll see -- in its place. Your balance also appears inside your account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
To learn what credits cost and how they're spent, see Credits, plans & billing.
What does the Upgrade / Pricing button do?
It takes you to the subscription and pricing page where you can buy a plan or top up credits.
When you're signed in the button reads Upgrade.
When you're signed out it reads Pricing.
You'll find this button in the top-right header, and again inside your account menu at the bottom of the sidebar.
How do I sign in or sign up?
When you're signed out, a Log in button appears in the top-right next to Pricing (and in place of your account row at the bottom of the sidebar). Click it to open the sign-in window. Many create actions — like starting a model — will also prompt you to sign in automatically if you try them while signed out.
What's in my account menu at the bottom of the sidebar?
The bottom of the sidebar shows your avatar, your name, your current plan, and an Upgrade button. Hover over it (or click it) to open your account menu, which contains:
Your name, email, current plan, and credits balance with a refresh icon.
An Upgrade button.
Invite — opens your referral details so you can share APOB and earn rewards (only shown when the referral program is available to you).
Notification Center — opens your notifications.
Help — opens a submenu of links (see below).
If you have unread notifications, a small dot appears on your avatar and next to the Notification Center row.
Where are the Terms, Privacy policy, and social links?
Open your account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and hover over Help. A submenu opens to the side with:
Terms of Service
Privacy Policy
Discord
TikTok
Instagram
X
Each opens in a new browser tab.
Where do I find my notifications?
Open your account menu (bottom of the sidebar) and click Notification Center. A dot on your avatar and on the Notification Center row tells you when something new has arrived. Note that notifications live in the account menu — there isn't a separate bell icon in the header on the main pages.
What is the "Invite" / referral option?
If the referral program is available on your account, you'll see an Invite row in your account menu (and a small gift/reward icon in the top-right header on desktop). Clicking it opens your referral details, where you can share APOB with friends and earn rewards. The exact reward amounts and terms are shown in the referral panel and can change with current promotions.
How do I collapse the sidebar to get more space?
Click the panel icon at the top of the sidebar to collapse it down to a narrow strip of icons; the button's tooltip reads Close Sidebar. Click it again (tooltip Open Sidebar) to expand it back to the full width with text labels. The main page content shifts over to follow the sidebar, so nothing gets hidden.
Why is there just a back arrow at the top of some pages?
Pages like a content detail view, the create screens, or the subscription page are "secondary" pages. On these, the sidebar is replaced by a small back pill in the top-left (click the arrow to go back) and the page title next to the back arrow on the left; your credits pill still floats in the top-right. The main pages (Home, History, Publish, Profile) instead show the full sidebar.
What's the little tour that popped up the first time?
When you first land on Home you may see a short 3-step guide highlighting key spots: your History, your Profile, and the Upgrade button ("Want more credits? Upgrade your plan here."). Click Next to advance and Got it on the last step to finish. You can dismiss it any time with the X, and on the final step an Again button lets you replay the tour.
How do I change the app's language?
The language selector isn't in the global shell — it lives on your Profile settings. Open Profile and use the Language dropdown to choose one of: English, Français, Español, 한국어, 日本語, Deutsch, or Português. By default the app follows your device/browser language until you pick one. For more, see Profile & account settings.
Why is the page just showing a loading image?
When you first open the app it loads your account, navigation, social, and subscription data before showing anything. During that moment you'll see a full-screen loading image. Once everything is ready the app appears. If it never finishes, try reloading the page.
What's the round button floating in the bottom corner?
That's the support chat launcher (the black circle near the bottom-right). Click it to open a chat for help. It stays out of the way of the bottom bar on mobile.
On mobile
The phone layout drops the desktop sidebar and header. Instead you get:
A bottom tab bar with Home, History, and Profile, plus a big round + button in the middle.
Tap the + to start creating. If you already have models, a small menu pops up offering Train a new model or Generated content (create from an existing model); if you have no models yet, it jumps straight to creating one.
Your credits and the Upgrade / Pricing button appear in the page header rather than a sidebar.
On secondary pages (like a detail view) the top bar shows a back arrow and the page title instead of the bottom tab bar.
The first-run guide appears the same way, anchored to the History and Profile tabs and the Upgrade button.
